About My Clinical Practice

In 1994, I earned my Ph.D. from the American Psychological Association-Accredited (APA-accredited) program in Clinical Psychology from St. John's University in New York. In 1995, I finished post-doctoral training in Forensic Psychology from the USC School of Medicine, program in Psychiatry, Law and Behavioral Sciences and worked thereafter for the California juvenile prison system. In addition to starting a private practice in 1996, I have served as a consultant for the Los Angeles and Orange County Courts, have been an Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Training at Argosy University. I am actively engaged in volunteerism as a psychotherapist via Pathways to Independence in Orange County, CA. I am an EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) Approved Training Provider, Approved Consultant, and Certified EMDR Therapist. Since the use of attachment theory is a central focus of my clinical practice, I have undergone additional training in the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI) and become a Certified, Reliable Coder for the AAI. I am a Level II trained Clinical Hypnosis therapist via the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) and utilize clinical hypnosis within my practice to assist in the treatment of specific symptoms, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.

Over the past 25+ years, I have been successfully serving our community's mental health needs and am committed to meeting those needs with compassion and professionalism. As a result, a high percentage of my private psychotherapy practice is from word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied clients.
